Mark Wareham, ACS, is an award-winning Australian Director of Photography with over 40 years of experience. He is known for his relentless creative energy, infectious enthusiasm, quick-thinking mind, and deep love for the craft—making him a sought-after creative collaborator and storyteller.
His feature film credits include Clubland, The Second, Jasper Jones, Felony, and Leah Purcell’s The Drover’s Wife. His work has screened at major festivals including Sundance, Toronto, SXSW, and the AACTA Awards.
Mark’s television work spans Secret City, Cleverman, Harrow, Redfern Now, Clickbait, and Black Snow. He shot all three seasons of NBC’s La Brea and most recently completed Netflix’s The Survivors, directed by Cherie Nowlan. His cinematography on Mystery Road (Season 1) was selected for competition at Camerimage, the world’s leading cinematography festival.
His international credits include second and action unit work on Anacondas, The Condemned, Triangle, The Wolverine (Japan unit), and China’s The Whistleblower. He lensed Netflix’s Boy Swallows Universe with director Kim Mordaunt, earning an AACTA nomination for Best Cinematography in Television. He recently wrapped Fing!, a comedic family adventure starring Taika Waititi, and has the horror feature Beasts of War in post-production.
He shares life with his wife Meg and enjoys travelling, practicing yoga, building with recycled materials and spending time with their three adult children.
